Preventing aluminium corrosion with high-quality FCBV coatings

Looking for a that can withstand all weather conditions? At in-lite, we know how important it is to invest in quality, durability, and design. With high-quality coatings and innovative methods, we ensure that your garden lighting lasts for years without compromising on appearance. In this article, you’ll read how in-lite prevents aluminium corrosion.
What is corrosion and why is it a problem?
Corrosion occurs when metals react with water and oxygen, forming oxides. This process causes materials like steel to rust, which can affect both the appearance and functionality of your outdoor lighting. Especially in gardens, where products are exposed daily to moisture and changing weather conditions, corrosion is a real issue.
in-lite has the perfect solution for this. Our outdoor lighting is made from aluminium, a material that is naturally resistant to corrosion. Yet, we go one step further with our special FCBV coating and hard anodizing techniques.
The role of the FCBV coating
The FCBV coating we apply is specially designed to protect aluminium surfaces against corrosion and wear.
Advantages of FCBV coating:
- Stays beautiful for longer
- Retains its shine longer
- Easy to clean
Products with an FCBV coating include ACE and LIV. This innovative coating makes it possible to choose from a wide range of colors, with striking options such as Dark Grey, Corten, and White.

The role of hard anodizing
Although standard anodizing already protects aluminium by creating an oxide layer, at in-lite we often choose hard anodizing. This technique forms an extra hard wear-resistant layer on the surface, especially for accessories that are heavily used such as drive-over garden lighting. Thanks to hard anodizing, we can guarantee that our products withstand all weather conditions.
Products classified as hard anodized include the EVO and SWAY fixtures, both available in the color Black.

Our process
Preventing corrosion starts with precision and craftsmanship. At in-lite, every product goes through a meticulous process to ensure even the smallest details are protected.
The process consists of three steps:
- Blasting the components
- Applying a primer through an electrostatic dip coating
- Applying the FCBV coating
